Sharon Warns Violence If Violence ContinuesAugust 14th, 2001
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL -- After Israeli troops dove deeper into Palestinian territory in the boldest attacks since the uprising in 1992, Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon cautioned that "whoever has turned to the way of terror will also pay a political price."
He elaborated, "If the Palestinians do not stop responding to Israeli attacks with increasing, despicable violence, we will be forced to increase the vigor of our attacks on them." US President George Bush agreed that Yassir Arafat should "clamp down on the suicide bombings and on the violence." Crazed Palestinian Fatah gunmen agreed as one masked suicide attacker promised death would lead only to death. "That's the idea, of course," he said. |
