WASHINGTON, DC -- Lawmakers and politicians are trading barbs on capitol hill, each claiming the other is only interested in their political motivations.
Democrats accused Republicans of using September 11th as a fundraising tool last week when Pres. Bush raised a record $33 million in a single event
selling 9/11photos of Bush. "That says this policital party only wants one thing: political gain, no matter how sacred the vehicle," said Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT).
Republicans, on the other hand, accuse Democrats of being politically motivated for pointing that out. "They are attempting to politicize the issue of whether or not we are trying to politicize that other issue," said Vice-Pres. Dick Cheney. "And all of this in a time of war, and let me just say, that is really irresponsible."
