Rumsfeld Calls For Vague, Uncoordinated Action May 21st, 2002
WASHINGTON, DC -- Defense Secretary Donald Rumself today called for all Americans to take vauge, uncoordinated action regarding vague, uncoordinated threats on American interests.
"It is imperative due to the 'threats', whatever those are, that all Americans, and especially New Yorkers, 'stay vigilant', whatever that means," he told the Senate Select Intelligence Committee on Capitol Hill.
His report echoed that of Tom Ridge, who called for general alertness, FBI Director Mueller, who called for unspecific "security vigilance" and John Ashcroft, who called for nebulous, dream-like safety procedures.
