MTV Airs Retrospective Of MTV Retrospectives Of MTVMay 1st, 2001
NEW YORK CITY -- In a press release dated today MTV announced it will be airing an already-produced segment which details segments of segments which MTV aired about MTV.
"Most of MTV's most celebrated content is its retrospectives of the times when it was a somewhat less of a corporate concubine," Bill Roedy, President of MTV Networks International, an AOL TimeWarner company. "In fact, those retrospectives depicting non-commercial, laid-back programming seem to be all our audience wants. It only seemed natural to add another layer of abstraction away from that better programming." J. J. Jackson, Kennedy and other veteran VJs will be back at MTV studios to look back on times when they looked back on times at MTV. Roedy added, "It might also give younger MTV viewers a chance to experience short clips of video portraying music artists expressing visual interpretations of their song, in what were called 'music videos'-- which were quite revolutionary at the time." |
