NEW YORK CITY -- Even one year later, the New York City skyline shows no trace of the world famous towers, which were destroyed in a terrorist attack forever.
    The dominating buildings once loomed over lower Manhattan. Some sources say the phrase "once loomed" used in a sentence with the towers as the object is still unnerving and "creepy". Additionally, pieces of tacky touristy crap from the trade towers before their destruction now strangely have an ominous, disturbing aura.
    "It's still hard to believe they aren't there," said Christine Walker, a New York resident. "You almost expect them to reappear one day."
