Bush: War at Any Cost, Including Credibility

WASHINGTON, DC -- President Bush in a meeting with reporters this afternoon said that the war in Iraq must proceed at any cost, including international credibility. The announcement is a reinforcement of a long-standing Bush policy that things should be done even at the cost of a reason for doing them.
"Saddam Hussein is an evil man," the President told reporters. "We must take him out at all costs, including our Allies, world diplomacy and domestic security."
And according to leaked Pentagon documents published by the New York Times, costs may also include the war on terror, from which the war in Iraq will divert elite special forces units and international support.
"Hussein is a man who would use chemical or biological weapons against his enemies," concluded Bush. "We should get our troops in there as soon as possible."
