W. House: Iraq Giving in a "Trick" to Hamper War Effort September 19th, 2002
Today the White House reacted angrily to Iraq's offer of unconditional UN weapons inspection, calling the move a "ploy" to slow down the growing war momentum.
"They have no right to surrender without us having the fun and political benefit of beating it out of them first." explained Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld. "I assure you the president won't let a foul tactic like capitulation prevent a potential confrontation."
Rumsfeld, who called Iraq a "terrorist state" in Congressional hearings this morning, told Senator Robert Stump (R-AZ) "Just because they are giving in to our demands does not mean we can't blow them up."
