New War Metaphor: Metamorphosis April 4th, 2003
WASHINGTON, DC -- Advisors have dropped the "regime change" euphemism in favor of the new, growth-of-nature approach in their media appearances.
"Like the steps a caterpillar must take before it spreads its delicate butterfly wings, war takes many stages," explained President Bush in a speech to a veteran's group. "We're in a metamorphosis right now."
"Everything has its phases," said Dick Cheney on Meet the Press Live, "different faces; different places. But the important thing is that we're all behind this war together, in for all its natural changes."
