Rumsfeld Calls for Iraqi Role in Iraqi Democracy

WASHINGTON, DC -- "Let it be certain that the Iraqi people should have some kind of voice in their self-government," said Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld Tuesday. "We are here to help them decide how much is enough."
He cautioned that the process, with his characteristic inimical charm, would "might not be pretty" at times, and called for a balance with Iraqi interests in their new government, which he warned was a long way off.
