Douglas Adams To Spend Year Dead For Tax Purposes

SANTA BARBARA, CA -- Douglas Adams, author of The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy, died suddenly of a heart attack in his California home Friday night. Surviving him is his wife and seven year old daughter. He was 49 years old.
Adams was famed for projecting that the answer to the ultimate questions of life, the universe and everything was precisely 42. (The wording of this ultimate question he purpotes is "What is six times nine?") Some critics pointed out that six times nine does not equal 42, while some supporters say it is possible- though in a base 13 number system. Adams himself responded saying, "Nobody writes jokes in base 13."
His friends say his death may be a major setback to his writing and may seriously disrupt his current schedule. He was in the process of adapting his book into a movie, only the latest creator to die unexpectedly early in production of a film for Disney.
We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors. We here at The Daily Sedative have greatly enjoyed his work thus far and are confident he can overcome this latest obstacle, and look forward to reviewing any material he is still able to produce. Thanks for all the books.
