China, India Promise Even Loonier Space Plans

WASHINGTON, DC -- Not to be outmatched by President Bush's bold space plan announced last week, centered around manned mission to Mars, astronomical upstarts China and India announced their own equally reasonable space missions.
"Your Mars-bound spacecraft will be put together at a base on the moon," said Indian Ambassador Lalit Mansingh "Ours will as well, and will only be constructed from common household items and assembled by winners of a fair and random lottery of the billion-strong Indian population."
China said it would surprise the world with an enegry technology that would combine solar power and cold fusion that it will discover in 2008 and which will power their space vehicle.
