GOP Links Kerry to HurricanesNovember 2nd, 2004
WASHINGTON, DC -- In a new ad campaign starting Monday, Republicans attempt to link rival Democratic Presidential candidate John Kerry to powerful and dangerous hurricanes.
"With a wobbler like Kerry in office, the hurricanes will have truly won" said a female announcer in one ad. Vice President Cheney explained in a campaign stop on Tuesday, "With Kerry at the helm, hurricanes will only become bolder and bolder in their incursions into US territory." The Kerry campaign lashed out at the allegations, accusing the administration of blocking a key National Weather Service report that purportedly contained weather figures that would be damaging to the Bush administration. "In fact, hurricanes are more prevalent and more unchallenged during this administration's tenure than in any other previous administration," said a Kerry campaign spokesman.
