WASHINGTON, DC -- In personal moment in the last hours of the campaign on Tuesday, President Bush made a breezy phone call to rival presidential candidate John Kerry to ask him what it was like to kill another man in the Vietnam war.
    "You shot that guy. I mean, what was it really like?" Bush asked. "Did you look in his eyes?"
    According to his citation for the Silver Star, Kerry leapt ashore, chased down and killed a soldier armed with a rocket launcher that threatened his swift boat and its crew.
    Kerry laughed and asked the president if his family was in good health.
